Club Dues:
Club dues are $80, per semester. $65 for a returning player in the spring.
At least half of your dues has to be paid before the first game of each semester or you cannot play in the game. If you have a problem paying this contact a club officer. We will be able to work something out. Don’t abuse this.
Once your club dues are paid you will receive the FAU Ruggers packet which will include a FAU Rugby shirt, sticker, one year subscription to Rugby Magazine, your Florida Rugby Union (FRU) Dues for a semester and social fees. Your CIPP dues are not covered with your club dues. CIPP dues can be paid by following the info below.
Club dues can be paid in cash or check made out to FAU Rugby. Cash is preferred.
Why do I have to pay club fees?
Since our club does not get funding like other sports in the university we are forced to charge a fee to help cover operational cost such. i.e., travel, referees, training equimpment, etc.
CIPP:
In order to play for in an official rugby match you have to be part of the USA Rugby CIPP program. This requires that you become CIPP registered. CIPP costs 20$ a year which starts in January. Half year CIPP’s are available for players signing up later in the year (10$).
This has to be paid online here.
If you haven't had an account before with USA Rugby then you will have to create a new account.
Then click on "membership registration (yourself only)"
Be sure to put Florida Atlantic University Men's Rugby, not "At-large".
What is the USA Rugby CIPP program?
It stands for Club and Individual Participation Program. USA Rugby is the national governing body for rugby in the United States. USA Rugby requires registration of both your club and a minimum of (15) players for each team. In turn, liability insurance is automatically provided for your club once both requirements have been met.
Why CIPP?
To play sanctioned rugby in the USA or abroad (touring sides), you must have CIPP registration. Playing without proper certification may lead to forfeiture of matches and possibly further disciplinary actions by the union.
Uniforms
Jerseys are provided for by the school. We do not issue jerseys due to the high cost of them. They are handed out at the start of matches and collected after. You can buy one through American Rugby Outfitters @ 1(800) Go-Rugby if you like. They have our logo on file, just ask them if they can find it.
Shorts and socks:
You have to buy your own shorts and socks. We tried handing them out in the past ,but some how the shorts and socks started walking. So because of that we have no option but to make you buy your own. The best place to buy rugby gear is on-line.
Make sure the color is NAVY in both the shorts and socks.
Kooga has some nice stuff. If you can get, the Pro K shorts.
Our team will get 5% back from all sales through these KooGa links so be sure to tell your friends to come here!
FINES
For meetings:
Meetings are an important part of having a well organized club. There will be a $10 fine for any unexcused absences to a meeting that you are required to attend.
For improper uniform:
Last year we started this, but we were not enforcing it strongly. This year we will be following this rule strictly, so be sure to be in the proper uniform at practice and when traveling (or at any event when asked).
Practice fine $4.00 Travel fine $5.00 Match fine $7.00
Brian Trew is the enforcer.
What is the proper uniform?
Practice will be blue shorts and red shirts.
Matches are blue socks and shorts and a red shirt.
Travel uniform is red FAU shirts and khakis for players and the blue FAU polo’s and khakis for officers. Khaki shorts are okay unless stated otherwise.
Three red shirts are issued at the start (or soon after) of every semester so there is no reason to not have one. Blue shorts and socks you have to buy so don't forget!! The blue polo’s are $15 if you don't have one e-mail Dylan at faumensrugby@hotmail.com to be put on the next order.
